Food Shopping
The Beach House is a short walk from the village shop which stocks all the usual necessities, as well as a selection of veg, and local meat products. If you fancy a longer walk, then the shop in Walcott is a good option. The major supermarkets will all deliver online to the house, or if you prefer to drive you have the choice of Sainsburys and Waitrose in North Walsham or Tesco in Stalham, all a short drive away.
Eating in / Takeaway
If takeaway is more your thing, then the village has the very good Bacton Fish Shop, however the locals know this too, so on Fridays get there early as there can be a long queue.
There is a Chinese restaurant in the village – Oriental Garden – which, as you would expect, offers a takeaway service. The food is very good, however note that they do not take cards, and are collection only. That said, they are only 10 or 15 minutes walk around the corner or a couple of minutes by car.
Eating Out Near Bacton
The Poachers Pocket
A good option for a meal out is the Poachers Pocket in Walcott. They have a very big menu, a games room for children and outside space. You can also reach it on foot – either through the village, along the coastal path or via the beach.
The Lighthouse
Situated on the other side of Walcott, Can be reached with a longer walk (about 45 minutes), or take the car and park in the large car park. A great option for Sunday lunch.
Watsons Cafe
Great dog friendly café a few minutes walk away from the Beach House. Everyone loves their quality cooked breakfasts.
Carmels Vegan Cafe
Just a short walk away in the centre of Bacton, Carmels is a pet friendly vegan cafe and is to be recommended for a spot of lunch.
Kingfisher Cafe
A nice reward for a beach walk from Bacton to Walcott is a trip to the Kingfisher Café for mid morning tea and a treat. They also do a good range of lunch options. There is plenty of outside seating. Dogs are welcome too!
Vera’s Coffee Shop
Located within A G Meale & Sons Ltd Nurseries and Farm Shop near Stalham, Veras is a fully licensed restaurant and coffee shop serving breakfast lunch and afternoon teas. Both are definitely recommended.
